• hand-made leg warmersThere is nothing cuter than chubby baby legs.

Little ham shaped thighs make my heart swoon. But lets face it, it’s cold out (at least in my neck of the woods) and I cannot justify, much to my disappointment, letting those thighs run around without some cover.

Leg warmers are a nice touch on top of tights on extremely cold days, or just over bare legs to make mommy happy

The solution I found buried deep in my 1980s youth is leg warmers! You can find these in many stores, and all over the internet. My favorites are Baby Legs. If I could, I would own them all. For my kids of course. I’m much too grown up to put those on my arms, I promise you. They have designs for boys and girls, and so many colors. Of course if you are talented enough to know how to knit, or like me, have a mom who has said talent, your possibilities are endless. My sassy little daughter hand picked her designs and colors for Grandma to make her. No big surprise we ended up with lots of purple. These baby leg warmers help solve my other dilema with my daughter: her obsessive need to wear a dress or a skirt every single day, despite the fact that it’s ten degrees out. Leg warmers are a nice touch on top of tights on extremely cold days, or just over bare legs to make mommy happy.

As my daughter says, they are “sweaters for my legs!” As she grows they can become sweaters for her arms too.

    I’m nothing if not practical.
