• Here is something you’ve got to try. If you have dry skin like me that is. When you don’t have time or money to get to the spa for a facial, try doing one at home.

My favorite concoction is a mix of sugar and olive oil. I don’t use any fancy olive oil, just the regular old grocery store variety. Seriously, nothing fancy. I put a few table spoons in a small jar, add enough olive oil to make a nasty looking slop and stir it together. Then, while in the shower I’ll wet my face then scrub my face with my foul creation. After I scrub I’ll leave the mixture on my face for a few minutes to let the olive oil do it’s job. Sometimes if I’m feeling the need to pamper myself so I’ll put a little olive oil in my hair too. Does great things for the shine of your hair. Then, I rinse.

It leaves my skin feeling very smooth and polished. Something every woman wants right? It feels like I use far less moisturizer as well on days when I use this scrub. Regardless I think it makes my skin look and feel fantastic. Other things you can try is just plain sugar without the oil. Baking soda if you need a very deep clean, but beware if you use baking soda too often you might leave your skin dry. On my more pampering days I’ll spread some avocado on my face and let it sit for a few.

My daughter and I get together to do our spa days with sugar scrubs and avocado masks. Makes for a great time and fantastic skin!
