• You’re a mom, and you’re busy. As such, your hair suffers. You wear the ever comfortable pony tail or hair bun. But I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way. You don’t have to cut off all your hair for the “mommy cut.” Of course we all know those who can rock that extremely short cut (can we say Emma Watson?) but if you’re like me, and you just can’t do it don’t fret. Here are my secrets for fantastic hair.

First, pick a shampoo and conditioner that doesn’t make your hair greasy. It may take some experimenting, but you will find them. Next, wash your hair at night and ditch the heat as often as you can. There is no problem blow drying your hair, or styling it with heat if you’ve got the time. But, again if you are like me and short on time for yourself, skip it.

You will fool everyone into thinking you spend hours making your hair fabulous, or that you were born darn lucky.

I take my shower after the kids go to bed (or during nap time as time permits) and let my hair air dry for about an hour. Then I will do one of two things. One I’ll put my hair in a “sock bun” on the top of my head. I’ll leave it all night, and part of the morning. Basically I will take it out just before I’m walking out the door. My other option is to wrap my hair around spare rags and sleep with those in too. Both options will make my hair have nice natural curls in the morning.

You will fool everyone into thinking you spent hours making your hair fabulous, or that you were born darn lucky. They are both easy, and take about five minutes. For detailed instructions on how to achieve both techniques check out YouTube. Search for “sock bun” and curling your hair without heat.
