• I may be the last to discover this, but getting up before my kids wake up is the best thing in the world. I hate mornings, I have since I was a child. It’s so hard for me to get out of my nice warm, comfy bed. So for the longest time, I stayed in bed until my kids were up and knocking down my door to get me to feed them. As you might envision it was the perfect recipe for chaos.

You can get up and enjoy the quiet while drinking your coffee.

Every morning I was rushed, and slightly panicked as I tried to get up and get the kids all they needed and wanted. It was stressful to say the least. Then one day, I woke up about a half hour before they did. It was strangely quiet around the house, and I didn’t know what to do with myself. So I worked out. The next day I woke up earlier, did a workout and got a shower. What? All of that before the chaos of the day even started. Strangely enough I was well rested and by the time the kids were awake, I was ready for them. I had even gotten their breakfast started so they were able to come down and stay happy. No grumps because it was taking me too long to make breakfast. No whining because the baby needed a bottle before they could eat. Talk about a personal epiphany.

I may be late to coming to this realization, you might already be there. But I figured that if I was still starting my day off in a chaotic mess then there might be others out there doing the same. So I’m here to help those who haven’t figured it out yet. And don’t freak out if getting up to work out is not your thing. You can get up and enjoy the quiet while drinking your coffee. Read a book for a few minutes or just enjoy the silence and time to your own thoughts before you are bombarded with the constant stream of demands.
