Surviving a Vacation with Baby

We all need a vacation, even baby. However, vacationing with a baby can be extra stressful. With a little planning, and a few extra deep breaths, you can have a completely relaxing vacation.
If you’re traveling with an infant only pack enough diapers and formula (or breast milk). Chances are where ever you are going will have a store where you can buy some. Save your space in your suit cases! I only ever pack one bottle or sippy cup. I’m not offended by washing it all the time because packing them is worse.
If you’re traveling by air, don’t be afraid to ask if there are extra seats on the plane. Often times you’ll get lucky and have a vacant seat next to you for your little one to sit in, even if you didn’t buy one. If you can afford it, spring for that extra seat. Those extra inches to stretch out in and wiggle in may just save your trip.

Don’t stress about sleep schedules, allow your kids to be slightly flexible. They will more than likely fall into a pattern while you’re away, and you can fix any changes once you return home. Never forget a lovey, or special blanket. They can save the day. Over and over again.
If you’re road tripping, plan for extra stops. Even babies get tired of being in a car seat. Bigger kids will appreciate a chance to stretch their legs too. We often chose parks, or indoor play areas to burn off some energy while driving long distance.
Most importantly, roll with the punches and relax. That’s what you went on vacation for in the first place right?
